Baked Brie.......YUM

Have you seen the mini brie rounds at Trader Joe's???
The prefect size and too cute. Baked in puff pastry with
TJ's honey apple butter.....YUM!

Served on a bed of baby lettuce....
A-W-E-S-O-M-E lunch!

With a large round cookie cutter I cut out enough pastry
to wrap around the rounds of cheese. Added a teaspoon
of the apple butter and baked for 20 minutes in a 400 degree
oven. YUM
I found placing the tucked side of the pastry down on the
cookie sheet made for better results.

See below for delicious dud.  ;)
Folded side up when baking.

I know these were good.... my hubby didn't refer to them as chick food.
AND ask me to put them on rotation!

Cookies

My neighbor Laura brought these out to share during our neighborhood egg hunt.
We all loved them so much, nobody wanted to eat them. ;)

Look at the detail. AMAZING!

A very nice and talented lady named Sherry made them.
She and Laura were kind enough to host a decorating party for a few of us.
Sherry was full of tips and techniques.

I'm kinda embarrassed to show you mine but, here goes........

If you look closely you can see my little guys finger prints...... ;)

Can't wait for an excuses to make more of these and practice my skills.I can see how this could get addicting.
Thanks again to Laura and Sherry for a lovely sunday afternoon.

Houdini & The Firefighter

My little firefighter.....

Our neighbor came home from his shift the other day.
The kids spied his gear and it was all over with.
We are in a BIG firefighter phase over here.
Thanks Rick

AND apparently my little guy is the next Houdini.
This is how I found him when I returned from the kitchen with my coffee.

Straps off and climbing out of his highchair.
Look at that expression.....
I didn't think I'd see that look till he was at least fifteen okay maybe twelve.

Poop Patrol

The bonus of doing poop patrol is you can find things like this.

A nest a humming bird NEST!!
My husband and oldest found it while on poop patrol in our back yard.

Isn't it the coolest. Its made of liken, moss, spider webs, and I think
I spy a few cat hairs in there too. ;)

If you look closely you can see some feathers and egg shell.
I read the birds make it just to fit the momma and because of the items it's constructed out of it stretches to accommodate the residents. Double cool. The nest is unbelievably tiny, 1" tall and about 1-1/2" across.

Oh nature you rock......

Cownes at Lip My Figen

We started taking our oldest to Little Farm in Tilden Park when he was just a few months old.
When he started talking he would ask to go see cownes, too cute.
Instead of saying cows lick my finger he would squeal cowns lip my fingen, cuter still!!
Now we refer to the park as lip my fingen.

Little brother not sure about all this.

The goats are such characters. So pushy and talkative.

Good for a good squeal or two.

Happy Monday,

Um.....hello

My first "real" post. It feels like it should be something monumental....silly.
I love love love this image. Found it when I was looken for images to identify my business with.
It's a vintage French post card, scored it on Ebay. It got lost in the mail but, showed up eventually.
Meant to be I guess.
For me it sums up that feeling I get when I'm starting a new project.
That flutter, breath catching high.
Even as a kid nothing made me happier than a 64 box of Crayolas and a stack of clean white paper.
Now I have many mediums to play with.
I'm hoping that what this blog becomes, a new medium to play with.
